Yew Tee - Bin Centre as Storage

Subject: FW: Discarded furniture and not removed for more than a month

Dear Hong Kah Town Council,

When I brought up the issues of discarded furniture which were left by residents for more than a month to your Mr Simon Cheng, he was quick to issue order to clear up the discarded sofa on the very day I sent the email to him. http://hongkahtown.blogspot.com/2007/08/blog-post.html
I thought he was very efficient. Little did I know that actually, he was creating a fire hazard to the residents.
When I passed by the garbage centre this morning, I was surprised to find the rubbish chute is used as storage for discarded furnuture, including the sofa that Mr Cheng has claimed that he has instructed his subordinates to remove.

I don't know whether he issued the order to his subordinates to put the sofa in the rubbish chute or his subordinate ordered the cleaners to put the sofa in the Garbage Centre.
Please Don't put the blame on the cleaner, I am sure he was acting out the order either from Mr Simon Cheng or his property officers.

I would like to propose to the Town Council to remove Mr Simon Cheng and his subordinates from their position as what they had done is endangering the life of residents - especially in view of the Hougang fire which cost two life. This kind of action should not be tolerated not excusable. The life of the residents are at stake. Don't wait till fire break out and someone get killed and then blame it to the cleaner for putting discarded furniture in the Garbage Centre. The property officers have a duty to ensure the area under their charge is properly maintained. In this case, they did not.

Meanwhile, I would like tht Town Council senior management to conduct physical check (nit just issuing order) on all Garbage Centre to ensure the chutes are not used as storage space for discarded furniture or other things as it is potential fire hazard.
Somebody "up there" should really do something about the management of the Town Councils, especially the Hong Kah Town Council.
Thank you for your attention.
